Prof. Horst Opaschowski is one of Europe’s leading futurists. He analyzed for nearly 20 years our lifestyle and habits and gives precise insights into the trends of tomorrow. He is a political advisor to governmental institutions and founded in 1979 the BAT Leisure Research Institute which became the BAT Foundation for Future Studies in 2007. He heads the Foundation as its Scientific Director and Chairman.
In 1968 he received his doctorate degree from the University of Cologne. For decades Opaschowski was advisor to the German Government and taught for over 30 years Educational Science at the University of Hamburg. Opaschowski was also Chairman of the Federal Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Technology Expert Committee to “Work-Technology-Leisure” and a member of the Board of Trustees of the “Expo 2000” Hanover.
